Twitter

Do you tweet? Or is it twit? I don't know. I joined Twitter a few months back. I'm not really sure I get it however. I see all these articles and stories about how addicting Twitter is yet I have yet to become addicted myself.

You can follow me here and I will most likely follow you back if your page is open to the general public. I get several requests a day to follow other twits but many times the pages have been removed or are locked. Why am I alerted to these pages? I don't know.

I'd appreciate it if someone would tell me how Twitter is supposed to make my life better because I haven't figured it out. I feed all my blog posts into twitter and if the title is provocative I see a few visitors from Twitter but I tend to get lost in all the Tweets.

Maybe it is because I don't hang around Twitter enough. If I see someone tweet something and I respond to it I don't usually wait for them to respond to my response. In all the hundreds of followers I am following and all the people following me I assume no one is paying attention unless I write about Forex or ED.

Please tell me how I am supposed to get addicted to Twitter, I really need another vice.

Hi,
I joined Twitter a month ago and must admit I'm addicted to it already. You can do a lot of things in Twitter, like promote you blog's new post, earn cash with ads and others. It depends I guess. In my part most of my followers are my friends, so we keep each other updated with things we do. It is like chatting with them. It is easy to follow other's tweets if you download Twitterfox or other tools.
Btw, I'm following you in Twitter. Have a great day! ^_^

Twinks, Thanks for the follow, I think I am following you too.

Marie, I don't know how I did it. I used some app. Google "feeding blog into twitter" and I'm sure it will tell you how to do it. Tweet maybe? If I'm not following you I will.

I really have no idea what it's all about either. It seems like a waste of time, but it must work some how if so many people are on it. I did here about a couple NBA players that were tweeting from the locker room at half time. Which is really weird.

Marie, don't sweat it.

Moody Momma, I try to follow the blogs I like on Twitter. I don't know why but I do. I've yet to have a conversation with anyone, except for the bloggers I know through different forums but one day...

Femme and commercials, maybe we are just too old?

I've been on Twitter for a long time. I have over 2100 followers there and follow about 1700.

It does drive some traffic to my site. However there are several other things that I find important about it.

I get my news first on Twitter. As an example, the first I heard about Iowa Supreme Court declaring marriage inequality unconstitutional came from Twitter.

I retyped (RT) the Twitter message. My twitter messages also go to my Facebook profile and quite a few people learned about the decision via my Facebook profile, where we had a great discussion.

So, perhaps the most important part of Twitter, at least for me, is getting news via Twitter.

Beyond that, it is about a discussion. When I tweet, I don't know who will read it or reply, but I get a fair amount of replies.

Replies on Twitter are like comments here. The more you reply, the better connected you become and the more valuable twitter becomes.

In terms of finding good people to follow, check out the #FollowFriday messages. These are messages that people on Twitter send to let others know who are the good people to follow. It also helps build community.

Be sure to check the hashtags. These are things like #FollowFriday or #npr They provide a good place to tune into the most vibrant discussions. search.twitter.com is a good place to see the most active ones.

Finally, look for a good tool to read twitter. I like to use PeopleBrowsr Other people like TweetDeck, TwitterFox or Twhirl. I use a mix of all of them.

Hope this helps.

Anyone who is reading this, who isn't already following me, please check me out at @ahynes1

Lately everytime I try to get on Twitter it is over capacity.

I tweet rarely. I don't think I've ever gotten a reply. :(

As to how to feed your blog posts to twitter, go to www.twitterfeed.com.

Hey sweety, I try and talk to people on twitter and If they respond it does not keep going. I mean there is no conversation. It stymies me. I follow a lot of charities and I do get my news right away from twitter. I am anything but addicted

Twitter is interesting and it does grow on you. It's a nice way to stay in touch with other bloggers too. Use it to promote your blog or other interesting online finds. I'm gardengnome1 on twitter. Follow me and I follow back :)
